The large bowls are created from a hollow ball with a diameter of ten meters. The secant chosen by Sandra Lindner is one meter or sixty centimeters in length – creating the diameter of the bowl.
The segment detached from the ball has neither a rim nor a base. And that’s the particular aspect of the workmanship: a bowl that functions without these stabilizing elements and is therefore simply a form. The bowls are fired free-standing, not in a mould.
Executing these ideas was the real challenge for Sandra Lindner. The bowls were manufactured at a traditional handy crafter’s workshop in western Germany.
