Sandra Lindner developed the Verform series to examine the relationship between serial production and creating one-of-a-kind items. Originally, she contemplated this interaction as a student of Professors Lambert Rosenbusch and Jonas Haffner at the University of Fine Arts (Hochschule für Bildende Künste) in Hamburg.
“The shades of the lamp look so shrivelled and kaput that they would normally be discarded during their industrial manufacturing” she says and calls this the ‘irony of implementation’ in industrial serial production.
Pieces originally poured into the same form become completely unique during the production process. The luminaires function well as a single object, however, up to 99 pieces bundled together have been used to create a type of chandelier.
